1. What is a teleclass?
A teleclass is a workshop conducted by telephone conference call. At the start of the class, you dial the conference call number and enter the access code which is provided to you when you register. Everyone on the call can speak to and hear each other.
2. Why are you offering teleclasses?
I strive to offer the kind of training that I would like to attend. I think combining the personalized interactivity of a small-group workshop with the convenience of home study is a great idea!
3. Can I ask questions during a teleclass?
Of course! The group size is limited so that everyone will have a chance to participate.
4. What if I don't want to participate? Can I just listen?
You are welcome NOT to speak up if that is your choice. But most people find it more rewarding to participate.
5. What kind of course materials do you provide?
Shortly before the first class session, I will email you the same handouts I would provide for a face-to-face workshop: an outline of key points for each session; materials for in-class activities; worksheets for use with clients/patients; and resources for more information.
6. How do I stay focused during the call?
I encourage you to go somewhere quiet, and resist the temptation to read your email, do the laundry or otherwise multitask during the call. I will make frequent references to the course materials to help keep you on track. I also avoid lecturing in favor of discussion and demonstration to help keep everyone engaged.
7. Why don't you give us a toll-free number to call?
In order to cover the cost of toll-free conferencing, I would need to increase the course fee by over $50 per person. Your long-distance service almost certainly costs much less for the same amount of calling time. If it turns out that many of you would prefer a more expensive toll-free option, I will consider it in the future.
